“Explore Life Together”
Everything gets better when our dogs can join. Whether it’s sitting on a brewery patio, strolling through the city, going for a paddle, or taking off in the backcountry - we’ll get your pup ready to tagalong too!
Kate is a Training Without Conflict™ Certified Professional Trainer based in the Greater Grand Rapids, MI area.
The TWC methodology respects the dog as a sentient being and values their mindset above all else - cultivating happy, engaged dogs. It does this by practicing clear communication during training and rewarding the dog with play. TWC trainers believe that honoring and fulfilling the unique genetic needs of your dog is crucial to the success of any training program.
Using a balanced training approach, Kate understands the value of tools in their specific appropriate situations; such as prong collars for on-leash directional communication and e-collars for off-leash connection. These tools are fairly introduced and contextually used.
Kate takes her dog, Frankie, wherever she is legally allowed and has a passion to see more people do the same. As an avid outdoors-woman, she and Frankie have backpacked 500+ miles together, spent at least a month in the canoe, have driven across the country, and more. They’ve seen bear, moose, and even a wolf in the wild. From the everyday to the extraordinary, their experiences with one another are what inspire the heart and mission of Cahoots Dog Training:
To help you and your dog “Explore life together.”

This program is the one we are most excited to offer!
Focusing on adventure-specific training and prep, this option gives you the confidence to fully embrace your favorite outdoor recreation by including your best friend.
Have you always dreamed of paddle boarding with your pup? Do you want off-leash reliability for hiking or mountain biking? Does your dog need better boat manners so you both stay dry?
Just like your interests are unique to you, this training program is entirely customized to your specific activity needs and goals.
But to reach the peak of a mountain, you have to start at the bottom. All dogs MUST exhibit a reliable general obedience foundation (sit, down, place/stay, out, leave it, come, heel).
Duration: Scheduled as individual sessions OR can be designed into a program based on your needs.
Price: Consistent with our pricing structure. However, due to the custom nature of this program, please contact us for a quote.
